Bio
I joined EKU as an employee in November 2015. I serve as the Training Specialist for the OSHA Training Institute Education Center in the Department of Workforce Development and Community Engagement. I was raised in Tollesboro KY and have lived in Lexington KY for the last 20 years. I received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky. After graduation I began a career in the grocery industry. I spent 7 years as a manager of a grocery store in Maysville KY and then moved into various positions in sales with Nabisco serving in the Central Kentucky area for 17 years. I returned to school and received my Masters degree in Safety, Security and Emergency Management from EKU in 2015. Returning to school as an adult with a full time job, a family, and lots of volunteer activities really opened my eyes to the challenges that many other students at EKU face. I also serve as a facilitator for online classes in the College of Justice, Safety and Military Science. Having been an adult learner in an online Masters program, I bring that perspective to my work as a course facilitator. I have two children one of whom is an EKU student starting in the fall of 2021. My wife serves as the Dean of Libraries at EKU. We are definitely a Colonel Family and I am happy to be able to serve the University as a member of the EKU Staff Council.
